Our legends sparkled during Grand Slams, won ATP titles and were ranked in the top 10 of the world. At the centre court of Curaçao they show that they have not forgotten their arts (and frills).

The first participant of the Curaçao Tennis Legends is none other than Mats Wilander. The Swede dominated in the 1980s together with John McEnroe, Ivan Lendl and Boris Becker by winning seven Grand Slams. Wilander won three times at both the Australian Open and Roland Garros, and he also won the US Open once. In addition, there are three Davis Cups and several ATP titles on his record and for a long time he was number one of the ATP world ranking.

Curaçao Tennis Legends cannot do without Henri Leconte and Henri Leconte cannot do without Curaçao Tennis Legends. The Frenchmen who won nine tournaments in his career and was a Roland Garros-finalist in 1988 will get to Curaçao for the third year in a row. At Curacao Tennis Legends 2019 Leconte will face Mats Wilander, against whom he lost the final of Roland Garros. Does Leconte gets his revanche after more than 30 years or will the Swede be too strong for the public favorite again?

As title defender Sjeng Schalken cannot be missed during the Curaçao Tennis Legends 2019. The former Dutch tennis star won nine ATP titles in his career, reached the semi-finals at the US Open in 2002 and was part of the successful Dutch Davis Cup team in 2001 that reached the semifinals due to victories over Spain and Germany - in which the later winner France was just a little too strong (2-3). He also reached the last eight at Wimbledon three times in a row (2002, 2003, 2004).

For many years, Xavier Malisse was called the "bad boy" of the tour. Destroying tennis rackets, insulting umpires and a one-year ban due to missing a doping control gave him a bad name, however Malisse also proved to be a fantastic tennis player multiple times, among others by reaching the semifinals at Wimledon in 2002 and winning the men’s double at Roland Garros in 2004, together with fellow countryman and friend Olivier Rochus.
